Protection against particulates and toxic gases.
The half-mask must be used when the toxic concentration allows it.
The limit is determined by a theoretical calculation taking into account the air leakage around the face and the filter efficiency.
The half-mask, depending on the filter used, can be used for concentrations between 12 x TLV and 50 x TLV.
(TLV= TWA for 8 hours of work or STEL for 15 minutes of work).

The half-mask must be used with certified filters.
The use of class 2 gas filters is highly inadvisable with this half-mask. 
Sperian Plus is certified to EN 140:1990 standard and provides the following Nominal Protection Factors :
*For gases and vapours : NPF = 50 - APF 10
*For particulates with P3 : NPF = 50 - APF = 20
*For gases with P3 : NPF = 50 - APF = 10
*For Class 1 gas filters : 10 or up to 1000 ppm (whichever is the lowest)
*For Class 2 gas filters : 10 or up to 5000 ppm (whichever is the lowest) 

They can only be used in sufficiently ventilated premises where the atmosphere contains a minimum oxygen volume of 17 %.
